Its beginning to look alot like Christmas....cards that is!!

So with Christmas being right around the corner, are you like me were you are planning your Christmas picture and card?  Well you are in luck!  My favorite place to get Christmas Cards is Shutterfly.  And right now, Shutterfly is offering 20% off all their Christmas cards!  There are so many different styles to choose from, its hard to decide which Christmas Card to get.

One of my favorite Christmas Card is

The Mod Love Christmas Card.  It is very simple and I love the saying!

Another version I really like is the Christmas Story Card.  This type of card lets you tell the story of your year.  This might be the type of card that I will be getting this year to send out to family and friends.  There are so many to choose from, but I have to say that this is my favorite one so far!
I am looking forward to getting down the milestones of what made our year so special!  We had Kierstyns first steps, her 1st birthday, our 2nd wedding anniversary and many more!

Another nice thing about Shutterfly is after Christmas, you can jump online and make some Thank You Cards with pictures of you kids (or yourself!!) opening presents, or another nice family picture on Christmas morning.  So what are you waiting for?  Jump on over to Shutterfly and start making your cards!!

Pumpkin carvings

So this was the first time we carved pumpkins with Kierstyn.  Last year she was just to little, and we lost track of time, and never did ours.  We started the warm Sunday off by making a trip to Jonamac Orchards in Malta.  And of course since it was almost 75 degrees that day, it was busy!  We took the long walk down to the pumpkin patch to pick our own.  Kierstyn was rearing to go and run, but it was so busy, and her not being able to listen when we tell her STOP!!, she rode in her stroller.  When we got to a good area with lots of good looking pumpkins, we took her out and tried to get some pictures of her picking one out.  Yeah, didn't really work :)

In these pictures was the only time she actually stopped and tried to grab one.  But once she figured out she could take off, that was the end of picture taking there!

We were able to get one more before we left the Orchard of her and our pumpkins in front of the "how a pumpkin grows" sign.  Before we got our pumpkins, and walked past this we stopped to look at it, and she kept pointing at the pumpkin pictures and laughing. :)

So around the time we get home, Kierstyn had not taken a nap.  We figured that she would pass out on the 30 minute drive home and be okay for awhile.  Nope.  Stayed awake the WHOLE ride home, but was great!  We ate dinner really quick, and sat down to carve our pumpkins.  She was amazed by them, and kept trying to roll them towards her :)  But to our surprise, she did great!  Took about 2.5 hours to do all three pumpkins, and she sat in her chair and did not fuss at all!
The last picture here, she is trying to give a hug to her pumpkin lol!

LOL one of my favourite pictures!  Kierstyn was trying to stick her head into the pumpkin and was yelling "HI!"

And my most favourite picture of them all, Kierstyn and mommy <3

Mommy and Daddy's pumpkins all done.  We were still working on Kierstyns at this time, but for some reason didn't get a picture of them all on our camera, just our cell phones.

One step at a time.

Kierstyn just will not stay in her bed and sleep anymore.  The first month was great, she stayed in her bed, and went to sleep.  Now we are entering her "I'm not going to stay in bed, and get up and knock on my door while screaming DOOR" phase.  In fact, I am sitting her writing this as she is at her door (probably laying in front of it, kicking the door) while she stays in there for a bit before I go in there for the 10th time and put her back in bed.

I have read some books about kids and sleeping, and some of the say to leave them on the floor.  It won't hurt them.  I know it won't hurt them, but she picks in front of the door, and I have to push the door open to get inside and I don't want to hurt her. And I DO NOT want to sit in there with her until she falls asleep.  Tried that, and she just stays up and talks to me, and tries to get me to read her books!

We would have been all good, but other people in this house DO NOT know how to be quiet, and wake her up all the time, which drives me INSANE! They will soon know how I am if I don't get that time to myself when Kierstyn takes a nap.  They might want to stay away from me LOL! (enter evil laugh here!)

Well, enough of my venting for one day. Off to see if K will stay in bed once again!

What a day!

Today has been crazy!  I am trying to convert our Family Room downstairs into a play area for Kierstyn.  One of the couches that was down there needed to go, so that finally got out of there yesterday.  I moved one of the kitty litter boxes to the Laundry Room, and will be moving the second one into there as soon as I see they are good with the first one in there.  Now all I really have to do is pick up all the crap that is sitting around in piles (not kitty crap, our junk LOL!) and find places for that and get the carpets cleaned.  We do have a TV down there with no cable yet, but there is a DVD player, but when I was at Target the other day I forgot to look for a cheap entertainment center.  The TV is on a bookshelve right now, but I'm not going to trust a 1.5 year old not to knock that off!  And I was planning on having a garage sale over the summer, but never got around to it, so I have a couch full, plus some of clothes and stuff to get rid of now!  Good Will, here I come!

Joining in on the fun!

My Wee View

I wanted to do what all the cool people were doing!  So Hi, I'm Sara! :)

Wow, its been to long

Sorry I have been slacking so much by not posting on here.  I have been trying to go through things to get rid of, reorganize things to make room for somethings from my Grandma's house, and still chasing my almost 18 month old.

In the last month since posting, Kierstyn has transitioned from a crib to a toddler bed.  It just happened all in one night.  It was her 17 month birthday, and she was having problems going to bed.  We have a video monitor (everyone should have one, they are GREAT!) and I saw that she was not going to sleep.  So I start getting up to go and comfort her, and all of a sudden she was gone!  Yes, GONE!  So I run in there, and there she is on the floor, screaming.  I swear I had about 20 heart attacks, but she was fine, just a bit freaked out.  So I comfort her for awhile and put her back in the crib.  And get back into Tom and I's room to see on the monitor her swinging her leg over the bar and and falling over! So I run back in there and start all over again.  This time I put her back in bed and sit in there with her, and she still tries getting out.  So needless to say that at 1am that morning, I was taking off her rail (her crib converted into a "toddler bed") and lining the floor with even more padding in case she fell out.  I don't think I made it to bed until 2 or 3 am that morning!

So she adjusted OK to the crib toddler bed, but I didn't like that she had problems getting into bed since it was higher up, and the fact that there was no bar to prevent her from falling out.  So we got her a white toddler bed that she LOVES! Adjusted to the new bed better then I could have ever thought, loves her new bedding we got for it (puppies and kitties) and sleeps all night long!  In the next blog post, I will get up some pictures of before and after!
